First Steps - Your dog’s journey.
Before any dog joins us, they’re welcomed through a calm and unhurried assessment process, allowing us to understand their needs properly.
Here’s how it works.
-
Normally conducted at your home, this is an opportunity for you to tell us all about your dog, whilst an assessment is conducted detailing behaviour, needs and preferences.
-
Promoting a genuine bond to form between dog and handler while ensuring the experience feels calm and manageable for everyone involved. During this time, the dog can begin to understand gentle expectations, while we gain insight into who they are in the world—how they move, what captures their attention, and how they respond to everyday distractions and stimuli.
-
A small, intentional walk alongside Charlie, whose steady and balanced nature makes her an exceptional first companion for newcomers. As a natural role model, she offers other dogs the opportunity to observe, mirror, and settle into calmer patterns of behaviour. Equally, her response to each dog provides a valuable understanding of their energy, temperament, and any areas that may require additional care or support.
-
Introductions to the existing pack are slow and considered, with the dog supported all the way through by using appropriate tools and methods. This helps them learn how to move respectfully within the space and the pack, while allowing us to redirect unwanted behaviours promptly, quietly and without stress. The result is a calmer, more rewarding experience that sets each dog up for long-term success. The pace of this process is always led by the individual dog—some move forward quickly, others take more time, and both are met with equal patience and care.
-
Upon completion of this process, we will welcome the dog into the pack by reinforcing what they have learned during their induction process until they are fully settled in.
What sets us apart
Dogs come first in every service we provide
We do not subscribe to rigid training camps or online trends. Every dog is an individual, and their temperament, history, and sensitivities matter more than any single methodology. Our approach is grounded in a deep understanding of how dogs learn as a species, applied thoughtfully and responsibly to the dog in front of us. It’s not about proving a point: it’s about doing what truly supports the dog’s wellbeing.
Long Term Relationships
Some of the dogs in our care have been with us for years, growing alongside us through different stages of their and our lives. This allows for deep consistency and genuine trust that develops over time. Rather than offering short-term supervision, we focus on lasting relationships that support each dog’s well-being in a meaningful and enduring way. For us, care is not temporary: it is a commitment.
Intentional Care
Nothing we do is accidental or rushed. Every walk, introduction, period of rest, and moment of guidance is considered in relation to the individual dog and the wider balance of the pack.
We move at a pace that supports both the individual and the pack's overall strength and cohesion -whilst communicating with you every step of the way through open and honest communication
